I just did a 4bbl intake swap and a new hooley 600. Not really satisfied and cant tell much difference. I swapped the 2bbl intake out with a 390 S code intake. Couldn't really figure out the kick down so i left it unhooked. The holley has the spot for the kick down. Shpuld i go back to the 2bbl? Or should i try a ford 4bbl carb? Whats anyones thoughts? I paid $100 for the intake.
its got dual exhaust. stock manifolds and dual glass packs. yeah theres something id say to. usually you can tell a big difference in 2 to 4bbl swap. I cant figure out what would be wrong though. im gonna put headers later down the road.
As configured, you're asking a sumo wrestler to breathe through a straw. When upgrading, improving the exhaust on FE engine is always the first step due to their restrictive exhaust manifolds. Only after are intake improvements worth the effort.
Install the headers and you will be amazed at the gain in HP and TQ. ... A gain of 30 to 40 HP would not be unrealistic as a 4V combination.
Meanwhile, hook up the kickdown and then test/tune.
ok well I have a 4bbl on my 73 360 and it performs real well and its stock with single exhaust. the carb on it is junk too lol. im gonna put headers on both of them. anyways the stock kick down leaver I cant seem to get it hooked up to the holley correctly. its like I need a different one or something. like it doesn't reach like it supposed when the 2bbl was on it.

So I need to find another kick down rod for the transmission? The holley carb has the spot/leaver to hook the kick down up. will the truck perform better with the kick down hooked up? Also I forgot to mention the truck isn't running as good as I think it should. I think im gonna swap out the point for electronic ignition.
