86 F250 460, pressure line is seeping and attempted to replace. The new line would not seal up at steering box, removed cleaned everything and reinstalled but still leaks. Take it off again and look closely, the end is not flared all the way like the factory line is. I assume just got a bad hose so I took it back to get another one, it looked exactly the same so I told parts guy just give me my money back that thing is not gonna work. I went to a different parts house and it's the same thing it's just not flared properly. Now I know both these companies could be using the same supplier but I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I am back to using factory one with the seep that I know will turn into a leak so I need to get this thing fixed. I guess I could just keeping going to different parts houses until maybe I finally get one that's flared right
Find a place that builds hoses and take your old hose/line to them they can cut off the rubber part from the 2 metal ends and add new hi psi hose to your ends.
This way you have the right ends and new hose.

Hose is obsolete, so it cannot be ordered. 26 FoMoCo dealers have (53) in stock, but I only listed the 2 in MO (where the OP lives) that have it.
When I said "ordered" don't dealers talk to each other so if I went to my local dealer he would "order/talk" to someone that has it and get it in for me to pick up.
If not all the more reason to have one made local.

If a dealer subscribes to the ADP (or other) locator service then yes, they can source other's inventory as long as the other dealers list their obsolete inventory under the latest part number. I've had them made at the local NAPA which has a machine shop.

Sure. But a dealer cannot order it from the factory.
Went to Ford dealer and as said was told not available. I can't believe I didn't think of having one made being that I'm a farmer and have hoses made all the time...DUH
