Well, I am not completely sure what did it, but it is running again. It has been dead for 2 months. I am not sure if one of the connectors that I was checking was loose and when I tightened it, it made a good connection again, but thank you for your help. I truly hope that it was that simple...I think wiring problems are the worst, especially in newer vehicles.

I went through a similar situation early last year. truck would crank but not start, I would go around checking everything and then some time later it would work fine. it completely quit on me one day a block from my house(luckily). I walked home got a test light and some tools and went back to figure out what happened.
long story short it was the fuel pump intermittently going inop off and on for 6 mos before giving up the ghost and dying around the corner. luckily I was close enough for a rope tow and had the tank out in an hour.
good luck, don't stray too far from home until you're sure it's fixed
Well, I am not sure this is good or bad, but I am disabled and so I rarely go very far from home. I live in a pretty small town and really don't like leaving it any more. You can bet I will keep a close eye on it for quite a while though.
When it originally happened, I was getting intermittent issues and the codes reported were mostly having to do with the mixture being too lean. It would die occasionally and I kept trying to pinpoint the problem, but the last time was at the hospital after a physical therapy appt for my nephew who lives with me and I am his caregiver. We were towed the 2 miles back home and it just sat in the driveway with the bed propped up in the air to get to the fuel pump. I am glad I replaced that since it seemed everyone was saying, "they only last about 100,000 miles" and I was at 150,000. During the time it sat with the fuel pump out of it, the gas evaporated and it was almost completely empty and it was running really rough. I put $40.00 of Supreme in it and Royal Purple Gas Treatment to clean everything out and then drove all over town to get it mixed in well and running through the engine. When I got home, it was running smoothly again and didn't act like it wanted to stall. Anyway, I am just hoping that the issue was the fuel pump going out and then finally quitting and now with a new one, it will be good for another 150,000 miles . As always, "time will tell". Thank you all again for your help.
I just want to ad a little to this theory on the life of the fuel pumps.
I have personally put over 300.000 miles on these ford pumps, before a failure.
Not sure why, I seem to have a lot better luck than others have posted.
I have factory ford pumps in a 91 mustang , that also work flawlessly.
I do k ow, that it is said to not run the tanks empty, and I also am somewhat disabled, plastic ankle with pins, and can not afford to have to walk far from a mechanical break down.
So that may be why I have not had trouble with pumps, I keep the tank full.
Glad it is running again .

Yes, when I replaced the fuel pumps in my truck, one of the new ones [of course, it was the pump that I have no control over, the aux tank one which pumps automatically to the primary tank] said that the warranty was void if it pumped for 3 seconds while empty.
my pump lasted a little over 188K. lots of us disabled guys on here. I have 2 cervical herniations, 1 lumbar and other lumbar issues that keep me close to home also. the walk from my truck to home when it finally died was the longest distance i've walked in 3 years.
i've been going stir crazy with cabin fever and all the other issues that come with not having a purpose anymore.
cheers
