Intermittent fuel pump failure
I have a 1999 F150 small V8 with an intermittent fuel pump failure.. Recently when the ignition switch is quickly turned from off to start, the engine will crank but no fuel. If the switch is turned from off to run, the fuel pump will run for a couple of seconds then will start when the switch is forwarded to the start position. Again this problem is intermittent and on occasion if the system fails on the first try, the vehicle must set for a half hour or so before the fuel pump will run even with the switch in the on position. Any ideas on the cause of this type of failure? Thanks.
