Compass

I have tried many times to calibrate the onboard compass on my 2011 f-250.
After going through the menu and attempting to calibrate; I drive in SLOW circles till the next phase of the moon and my message is still "calibrating".
It will never calibrate and never work. I have come to the conclusion something may be wrong. What is it? Fuse? Mirror? Wiring? Modulatgongulator?

Extra metal near the sensor can prevent calibration.

Mine did that once. After giving up, I went home. The next day it worked fine. Dangdest thing. Sorry I can't be of more help.

You have to do it with the rear wheels spinning. :-)

My opinion of that gadget is that there are a bunch more things to 'fuss with' on my truck then that. It gives a general idea of NSEW which for practical purposes is just fine. It never calibrated right in my long gone '06 F350 or the even longer gone but still chuggin', '97 T-Bird.

Have you tried changing the compass zone +/- 1 zone and calibrating again?

YES I have tried that plus and minus zones.
