Dana 60 Posi

Guys - I have a factory open differential in my 1977 F250. It is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears, and I am working to set the truck up for towing. I am looking to add a Posi Carrier. Looking at either the PowerLok Posi or a Detroit TrueTrac. Anyone have experience with? The TrueTrac is about 700 Bucks on Summit - and there is a PowerLok for about 500 on eBay. Is a TrueTrac worth the difference? How difficult is it to install? Not experienced but I think I understand the principal... only part that I am worried about is getting the backlash correct, looks like people say that you can generally re-use the old shims and get pretty close...

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Never had a Power lock. The Detroit products have always been top of the line.

True Tracks are junk, complete junk don't waste your money. Power-lok is the only way to go. Trac-loks are junk as well. You won't have to set the pinion depth. Get a set of set up bearings or have a machine shop hone out a used set so they will just slip on. You won't have to get the old ones off but it would be nice so you could get an idea what you need for shims to start with. Use the new races you get for set up, sometimes they are not the same from one mfgr to another.
