Unforseen issues in engine swap?
My work vehicle is a '90 E-150 4x conversion. It still has the factory 302 FI and AOD. At 295k this thing is tired and can't get out of it's own way! Thinking about swapping to fresh 351 w/ C6 out of an '85 Bronco. Will the injection manifold bolt to the 351 heads? Will there be a problem with a change of trannys? Not sure if this is an EAOD. TIA

Is the E40D what you have now ? If yes, you need the PCM ....The C6 does not need a Computer...It is Hydraulic....
As far as the manifold goes I think it might ...Check this :Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
Other questions let me now

If it has a E4OD it will have a push button either on the shift **** or on the dash. The AOD won't. If you have the E4OD it's computer controlled. The AOD and C6 aren't. And the different transmissions might be different lengths. So that may require relocating the transmission crossmember.

If you want the new motor to be EFI you need a complete 5.8 intake system(upper and lower), and a 5.8 distributor as the 5.0 version won't work in the larger block. You can use the 5.0 wiring harness but you also need a 5.8 PCM for a non computer controlled transmission.
In Ford land the term AOD is not a generic reference to an automatic with overdrive it's an actual transmission so you have to be careful with it, this series of trucks could have also had one of 2 computer controlled 4sp trannys too which were the 4R70w and E4OD, or a C6 3sp, or a manual. Expect to have to change the driveshaft if you use the C6 too.

The 4R70W wasn't around in 90 was it? I thought that came in later models.

Yes, you can run a carb on an engine with a catalytic converter. If the crabs tuned right, it won't hurt the cat.
But, if your local/state emissions laws allow you to put replace EFI with carb, then you probably don't need the cat, either.
