So I got a new tranny about a month ago. Everything works flawlessly. Until today.... Going up hills even small ones fells like I'm towing a house. No torque felling. In 3rd and 4th gear (automatic) it gains boost really fast and peaks at 28 lbs. and coasting downhill it slows itself down. I can go from 60 to 40 without braking in a half mile stretch. I fist noticed something was different when I started to drive home tonight; it makes a sort of whining or howling noise. I can't quite pinpoint where it's coming from. I'm tired of this truck but love it at the same time. If anyone lives in SoCal and wants to take it off my hands let me know.

THANK YOU
Sounds like tow/haul mode, especially in the slow down part
That's what I was thinking but it's not working because the wires going to my tow/haul mode button are cut from all the movement from p - d
Could there be another way to turn tow haul mode on and off?
IF I had the loot I would in a heart beat, but more importantly tough it out it sux for bit but you'll be glad you did in no time at all. as to your tranny prob I have no clue, only thing I can think of to start with is testing all the "switches" inside the tranny. There is a write up on it here somewhere, for values and procedures.
I believe tow/haul automatically starts in the off position during start up, so the only way it would happen would be if the wires were touching each other in the column... But even then you would see the light come on.... Unless that is burnt out too. Wish it was something that easy for you
I would get in there and make sure that none of the wires are in
contact with anything. You have more than just the switch on that set.
You also have a light.
There have been some people that have repaired that wire set and
it did not more than cost your next days lunch at McD.
