Hi
Picked up a 1991 Bronco that had excessive door drop when they were opened. The hinges were well worn. Went to the local salvage yard and was able to pick one up from a 92 bronco. Getting the old one off was tough but finally got it. Then disaster hit when the backing plate for the hinge bolts dropped down inside. I have no idea how to get to the inside of the door mounting area. Any help would be appreciated.
I know you've already committed to swapping the hinges, but you do know that Ford (unlike Chevy) uses a replaceable bushing in the hinges. You can get a new pin& bushing kit for each door, and it's much cheaper & easier than taking the old ones off, realignment, etc.
Hey Guys. Thanks for the inputs. The backing plate was accessable through the kick plate.
\Ghosteh My son was watching me yesterday and said the same thing as you said. I got used hinges from the salvage yard and they are better than mine but still have play in them. So I have ordered the pin kit from Amazon and will give it a try. BTW, does the hinge have to come off to replace the pin? Thanks again.

No, but you will need his help holding the door as you remove/replace each pin and bushing. It's pretty easy, just not a 1-man job.
