Greetings from Australia, I have an 83 f100 xlt 351c. Iam trying to work out what sort of an ignition system I have. It looks like the original distributor was replaced with another. I cant tell what it is . the reason I was looking at this is when I bought the truck the original Tacho was not working and I started looking at the wiring but do you think I can find the ignition control module?
I will put some pictures on. Any help would be great,Thanks
Mate, that's a Bosch electronic dizzy.
They don't have a module box as such.
They do have a little module on the dizzy under the little rectangle lump opposite the vacuum advance unit.
They are a very good and reliable item.
They were standard fitment I think from 1981
I wonder of that is a down under thing as I don't remember seeing something like that on state side Ford motors only Motocraft dist & box on the inside fender well.
What do others in the know say?

edit: after reading another post could that be TFI (sp?) IGN system? Thought it was used with EFI from what I saw posted.
I can assure you that is a factory dizzy in Australia in the clevelands .
There actually a wanted item for early ford fans, to replace the points version.
Thanks fellas, now I have to work out why the Tacho doesnt work.coz my aftermarket manual indicates it would have a Duradpark system with 3 wire coming out of the Dizzie and this Bosch unit has 2.
Thanks for your help
If you ever have any trouble with dizzy, Google schorcher distributors in Melbourne.
They will recondition it all up for about $200, don't waste your time with those cheap knock offs on eBay.
