Boost Gauge Install ?

I have an 02 F350 7.3 ... I jut got my triple pillar guage kit from glowshift and when I ordered the kit I ordered the air intake heater delete plug that the boost guage can be hooked up to and I ordered the T fitting adapter for the map line I'm told ... I'm unsure as to which way to go about installing this gauge. The gauge itself shows directions for hooking it up with the T fitting and that's fine but I'm not familiar with the boost lines and what not ... But I'd also like to delete the air intake heater either way ... Basically what I'm asking is which is the best way to incorporate the boost gauge and how do you install it with the T fitting, which line would I cut !? ... All help is appreciated ... THANKS !!!

Does the sensor screw into the AIH delete plug? If so, that is where you should tap into in order to read boost pressure. Especially if you are looking to get rid of the AIH anyway. I would not tap into any lines in order to pull boost readings.

I just did this over the holiday break and it has been good to see how hard the turbo is working.

Yes I would rather do it the intake heater delete plug way but as far as I can see the kit didn't come with a fitting to screw into the plug ... Unless the the leg of the T fitting is detachable and can be used in the delete plug ... The directions for the boost gauge have the T fitting going into the line then the boost hose running from the T to a black box and then wires from the black box to the gauge but I'd rather do it the delete plug way but I'm unsure if it came with a fitting for it

Do you have a link to the kit you bought with pictures of the sensor and AIH delete plug? If not, can you post a picture or two, that may help you describe what your problem is and help us get you on the right track.

Yes the plug screws into the heater hole and the center of the plug is tapped for a fitting or it has a plug for the tapped part to seal it If your not putting a fitting in it

I installed my glowshift gauge into the spider, so I would use the plug you bought. No need to tap the lines.

Here's a pic, (if it helps), of my Riffraf AIH delete plug with an Isspro boost sensor installed in it:

I disconnected and removed all the AIH wires but left the relay mounted for a GP relay back up. (And for lack of anything else better do do with it)

Just like Binuya, I installed the Isspro RiffRaff gauge. Below is a picture for reference.

You can see the AIH plug has threads in the hole in the middle. Then the sensor screws into that and then goes to the gauge via the wire.

It looks to me like that Isspro set up is a sensor with electrical wires coming out of it. My gauge taps into the MAP line with a tube that goes to the back of the gauge in the pillar. I cut the hose right near the MAP sensor, affixed my T, and ran the tube from there.

I had a boost gauge from glow shift on my other truck. I did the AIH delete and went to lowes picked up a 1 inch x 1/4 reducing bushing and plumbed the line in. You will need to take the line with you to be sure to get the proper barbed fitting size.

I did mine the same way as you did. Either way is fine and they both read boost pressure.

That works with this: [LINK] when you have a mechanical boost gauge (just tubing).

When you guys deleted the AIH did you get more turbo whistle afterwards? Mine seem louder than before, could this be due to more air getting to the turbo?

No. The AIH is after the turbo.
