Hey guys, Wife just called and told me she just got locked out of her explorer. Luckily my son was in the car and was able to unlock it for her. Anyone have any issues? does this the battery needs to be replaced? I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Its a 2012 xlt ford explorer.

Hi DeeDubz,
I wanted to touch base and see how things were going with the Explorer. How many miles are on it? If you're having difficulty tracking down the issue, you can always swing by your dealer and have them inspect. Keep us posted.
it seems that this is an intermittent issue. probably won't take the car in until something else brakes. Its hard to find the time to take the car in to the dealer and be down to one vehicle with a busy family.
Thought I understood the convenience of a keyless entry system. But it isn't possible to use a conventional key, because there isn't a conventional lock? At all? What if the battery is dead?

There's a physical key in the back of the keyless entry fob that will get you in the driver's door.
Had a friend a few years back with a Taurus. The trunk had no physical key only an electric release inside the car. Dead battery. Where's the jumper cables? Yup, in the trunk. One of Ford's better ideas.
