'93 Explorer

Some 93 XLTs had keyless entry and some did not depending upon the XLT Package.

I too have a 93 Explorer & the manual says it comes w/keyless remote. I have one from another vehicle the dealer gave me. I tried turning the key 5-8 times w/no luck. Is the another way or maybe just my battery is dead? Can someone help?
