In order to replace the locks on my 1970 F250, I needed to remove the aluminium trim which is covering the screws for the metal door insert. Removing it went smoothly, but how do I replace it ? There must be an easy answer I guess.....
The picture shows it still attached to the door, it's the trim with the black center.
Hi martinkik and welcome to the forum, no doubt you must of tried putting it back on in the reverse order, but for some reason are the push in type clips not holding it onto the door panel ?? just curious what you tried
I am guessing clips are stuck in door .
remove them by carefully prying or with a trim removal tool .
then put back into trim , line up top set of clips to holes move your way around till done . Don't use a hammer !! just the palm of your hand

Mike you were right on the money here.
martinkik this is an easy one, just do as mike mentioned and you will be back in business but if you dont have a removal tool handy might want to wrap some masking tape on the tool you decide to use to prevent marring the paint just try not to bend the clips ears, but if you do mess up some of them i can give you a few clips for free if you need them. good luck and may the force be with you
These are still in the panel, hope this clears things up. Reversing my action didn't work unfortunately....
Thanks on forehand !
Martin
martinkik: the way the clip is in your picture they lock in front and back, if you will take a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze between the v shape sides they will pull right out. Here is a side picture were you should be able to see the locks, and a top picture with the foam out of it. On the top picture you can see the **** sticking up, that is what you want to squeeze together.
