I need to replace the door locks on my 70 F-250. It is a sport/custom and I need to remove the trim to get to the screws holding the panel on and was looking for the easiest way to pull the trim without damaging it?
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Ken
Remove any screws in the trim then use a trim panel removal tool because the back of the trim has those sping clips just like older cars trim panels. A fine flat head screw driver and a rag under the screw driver to prevent damage will work to
Thanks for the response,
I know this is how to remove the vinyl door panel but I need to remove the trim piece that covers the screws to the panel and wanted to make sure not to damage the chrome trim.
I will look at it closer.
Thanks, Ken
Upon a closer look at my 69 the chrome trim is held in place buy a round barrel clip but is very simular to the trim panel clips. Removal is the same way, go slow and easy and you should have no problem. It also looks as if the factory used a sealer before snaping in place.
