Reinstalling door trim on 1970 f250 sport custom
Thursday night I decided to disassemble my drivers side door in order to lube the window mechanism. I applied lube and all was going smooth until the final step, reinstalling the iterior chrome door trim that rests over the screws. I removed the trim initially with a paint scraper very carefully and it came off straight and easy without any bends or breaking of the stock fasteners. The fasteners all stayed in the door with the metal clip side remaining. I have no clue how to reinstall the trim without brute force which would leave to bends and breaking of fastenets. What method have yall found to reinstall this trim? Were the plastic trim pieces supposed to come out of the door panel when I was removing the trim?

Hi Countrydriven,
Recently, I've experienced the same and what you would need to do is take the fasteners out of the door, re-apply them into the trim and them install the trim back onto the door. You can bend the fasteners slightly, so the pop back into the back of the trim. Or use slight force, with a screwdriver or something similar.
Good luck, it's really easy once you have a hang of it !
