locked out...

I think I've figured it out. I suspect that when I remove the key I must be pressing the lock button without realizing it. This is just a suspicion, one that has me more carefully removing the key. I've never had this problem with our other vehicles but the fob may be just enough different to demand a different removal procedure. Interesting stuff.

There is a sequence where they lock, I couldn't tell you for sure where or how. I know on my 2010 Mustang I could turn off this annoying feature, but I haven't found it on the newer cars. I have a '15 Fiesta S and the only thing I don't like about it is the power door lock feature (no fob in key though). Nothing is more annoying that a car doing something I didn't tell it to IMO, and many computers have been smacked for the same thing.
