I check in every day, to this thread. I've been a Ford guy and lived through a 1953 PU, an 87 Bronco, and a 98 Explorer. This Connect truck was a big change for me in that it is obviously a street truck. But I am loving it.
I am proud of Ford for its outreach to the future. To me, the Connect is light years beyond my old Fords. There are some things I do not like; the complexity, the fragility. But the mileage, the comfort, and the ability --these things compensate for what I do not like.
And so I watch this thread. I think us Connect folks are connected to the future and we are the focus group. And I appreciate those of you who pay attention to this thread and provide valuable information for all the people who will follow us.
I know that the Transit Connect is one of the oldest model vehicles in the world and has had a long run in Europe. Does anyone know if the 2014/2015 models are being sold in Europe? I am finding my TC to respond like a sports car, which is considerably different than the reports of the cargo van in Europe. Are the 2014/2015 TCs unique to the U.S.???
My dad and I are starting a legit small farm business. He has a '87 F150 and I have my 2000 550 dump. He was talking about getting a new truck here soon if things go well and I told him "that'd be nice dad, but I think we'd be better off buying one of those little mini cargo vans". He agreed. They are just so darn functional!
