Oil cooler
Hello just joined this site to get some info on a problem I have with my truck.
It is leaking oil fairly fast between the filter and oil cooler. I have changed the filter and it's still puking out.
I just ordered a new cooler for 200 bucks, Is this a common problem? I thought I might try to replace it myself so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My apologies if this post was not done correctly as this is a first for me.thanks

Thanks for the reply, it seems to be coming from the oil filter gasket. I figured the new oil filter would do it, but no luck, still leaking... I was on my back in the snow but I didn't see any irregularities in the aluminum mounting surface. Normally I can find a post online of someone that has had a similar issue, but it looks like im the only one lucky enough to have this specific problem.

That oil filler cap looks like my F150 oil filler cap in the winter. There's a little water in the oil system, and it winds up showing there. There's no oil/water leak in my truck.
Maybe post a picture of the coolant in the tank [so you can see the coolant directly].
If you do have a real problem with this, you'll see a layer of oil on top of the water [as they won't stay mixed].
And maybe change the oil and see if there is water there [again, it'll separate out from the oil].
But that oil filler cap alone doesn't mean the oil/coolant are mixing.

Ok thanks ya after looking again the coolant looks a little dark, but there's no oil on top or anything, and the nasty oil cap seems to be fairly common. Freaked me out though, thanks for the reply I really appreciate it. I don't think ill have any major issues driving it this week. Just keep adding oil until I can get it on a lift.
