Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 51.6, scattered overcast and 96% humidity that seems to be starting to drop some.
Cable TV and internet went out (again) last night around 1830 and didn't come back on until just a few minutes ago. Starting to get really tired of the outages, the (at times) degraded picture and overall poor service. We are starting to take a serious look at Direct TV Satellite to replace the cable. Won't help with the internet though, but we don't have much of an alternative to that around here.
Had a bit of excitement that got the dogs and us out of bed this morning around 0200. Life Flight landed in the "back yard". (High School Field adjacent to our back fence is a designated LZ for this area). Sat there spooled up for some time, which is unusual because they usually shut down while waiting for the ambulance and patient. Took quite a while for the ambulance to show up. Then they did what I would term a "hot" take off. Usually they "lazily" go straight up a couple of hundred feet before they start any horizontal flight attitude. This morning they lifted off "hot" vertically just barely enough to clear the light poles at the tennis court and our roof and transitioned in a hurry. It was almost like they were departing a "hot LZ" under fire. They darn near took the chimney off our roof. Then they did a steep bank turn back to the SE which is not normal. They usually go off NE in the direction of Portland. This morning they headed off like they were going to Salem or Corvallis.
