My 2000 F150 4x4 Off Road is bone stock. It's time for some new tires and wheels. Right now I have 17" wheels and BFG 265/70/17s on it. I was thinking about going with an 18" wheels? and a little bigger tires. I was going to add a 2" torsion lift to the front to level it out. What size tires do you all recommend? What brand? (on/offroad). Later on I plan to add duel exhaust and a few other things. Thanks in advance.
welcome to FTE.
your current tire size is 32 X 11.50 X 17
i can see no reason why you could not put a 285/65R 18 tire on the truck with stock suspension, the 285/65R 18 is 33 X 11.50 X 18, or 1 inch taller.
the only issue i can see you running into is finding an 18 inch rim that fits your truck.
if i remember correctly, you have 5 lug wheels, and the 18 inch wheels are 6 lug.
??? 18" wheels are only made in 6 lug? I could have ordered 8 lug 18" rims with my '08 F-250. I gotta believe they're made with other patterns too.
As far as brands, you'll get almost as many opinions as you have people answering. Personally I like BFGs, although I've never used the new M/Ts, so I can't say anything about them. And I recently got a set of the AT KO2s, so not much experience there.
Thanks for the help y'all..Dealer guarantees wheel fit but I will make sure. I was thinking about going with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 blackwall tires. Wheels I was quoted on were Tuff T10 matte finish 18x9.With the few miles I put on my truck per year I guess any decent tire will do. They usually deteriorate before they wear out. I basically use the truck at the hunting club with no serious off road obstacles. As I get the money to do add ons I will check back with this forum for suggestions. That is one nice Bronco Nothing Special! Happy New Year Yall.
