I was wondering what size wheels people were putting on their excursions, i would like to have a size i can get a good load range e tire for that was all black or mostly black.
seems like all the good looking rims are in 17,18, or 20 inche sizes.. im wondering if there is much of a choice for these sizes for tires? i would like a studded set of tires for them for winter.. or maybe i could run studds on my 16 inches that are stock and get aftermarket 16" ones and put the tires that are on the stockers on the new rims.
I still have my stockers, may do something with them. The local 4x4 shop has an X with twenties and he recommends that to NO ONE. With sidewalls that short the ride is very harsh. He is going to be changing those out.
I have a 6 inch lift, 20 inch wheels and tires. It is a rough ride, but what I expected. Not sure it would be any different with more sidewall or not. At least with a 35" tire, you still get alot of sidewall. Probably step it up to 37s when these wear out.
i have 20x9s on mine, i didnt notice much differance in ride at all. rides great in my opinion w/the x-code springs(plow prep) and the 275/55's i have...heres a pic.
i run my studded tires on my stock wheels for winter, just swicthed them out today.
got me some nice ford rims and bfcommercial at tires with stud holes for my winter studded set! now just need to find some nice rims to replace them chrome clad stock wheels for summer..
