OK...here goes.. Don Meister
There was a Saturday Night Live skit years back that showcased "The Don Meister". And then there was the Burgermeister Meisterburger from the Christmas special...ugh. I've heard them all, lol. Many a black eye administered and received in grade school...
The Don-meisterrrrrr.... makin' coppppieeeeeezzzzzz.....
I got lead to this thread for some reason. I own a 1966 Mercury 100 Ranger, apparently a very rare option package. The name however, comes from me owning an 88, 89 and now an 06 Ranger pickup. Twenty years ago I owned a 66 Mercury 100 and now I own another 66 Merc! The last part I would hope is obvious but is not politically correct to state anymore . Several members have abbreviated my name to RMM and this would certainly have been easier to type!
I wasn't aware until recently that there were Mercury pickups. But I watched a movie with Robert Redford in it and he drove a Mercury pickup. So I did a bit of searching and found that while we didn't have them in the US, they were sold in Canada. Given that, I'm guessing that The Great White North is Canada.
Long story short.....my user name comes from a online game back in 1984....I got it there....and just used it everywhere as the world became more and more exposed to the internet.....Probably should use something different, but it's been my go to online name for more than 30 years.

Do you remember what movie?
Lots of movies are filmed in Canada, even though the story is set in the US. I always get a kick from spotting little bloopers like that. Of course a Mercury truck could have been brought into the US, so that 'mistake' isn't implausible. The fun ones are seeing stuff like Canadian speed limit signs (metric), stores that are only in Canada, etc.
I recently watched Silver Streak (1976). The Illinois State Patrol had a helicopter with a Canadian registration number, so that was a big oopsie. Canadian aircraft registration numbers start with a C. US registration numbers start with an N. Kinda hard to miss, painted in big letters on the tail.

In the movie "A Christmas Story" which was mostly filmed in Cleveland...Ralphie's school scenes were actually filmed in Canook territory. Strange that the school looked very similar to the grade school my father went to...in Cleveland
