Aftermarket backup camera?

Hello,

I have a 2004 f150 and am going to put in a new radio (Pioneer AVH-4100NEX) with backup camera inputs... What kind of backup camera should I buy?

It would be nice to have the trailer hitch view, but I suppose not necessary? Recommendations?

good luck -jim

When connecting to the head unit like Pioneer, Kenwood, whatever, make sure you get a CCD backup camera and not a CMOS. There is a very distinct difference.

Other than that, the mounting choices go from the typical bolt on to the license plate frame to however creative you want to go. I've seen offerings for ones that replace the tailgate handle and give you that OEM look, although some of those are cheap knockoff handles that are flimsy and break. So be careful. You'll typically get what you pay for.
