Ebay Headers

Anybody tried these headers? Stainless and the price is not bad. But are made in China. Wondering if they will work on my 1972 F100

I haven't seen anyone use them that I know of yet. I'd be skeptical of them myself as the number 1 rule is you get what you pay for. Possibly try finding some reviews on them to see if anyone else has them and how they turned out for them. I'm personally a fan of Sanderson and mad dog headers pricey but well worth it not having to ding any tubes or fight the fitment.

I paroozed the add, and did not find any gauge thickness of the tubing used... Most inexpensive headers are made from the thinner 18 gauge tubing. On my 300 IL Six, I went with Clifford Performance, as they were 16 gauge... and not much more money than the less expensive common headers.... As Crazed said, you get what you pay for, and sometimes less...

I don't think that car headers will fit or work. It seems like they interfered on the right frame rail. But, I'd make sure they'd fit a truck first. An SS odd to keep your engine bay nice an warm.
2x you get what you pay for..

That price seems too good to be true. Like Orich said, I've heard about fitment issues when trying to use CAR headers on a truck. But find some reviews first!!

"You get what you pay for"

Yeah, and that's if you're lucky. These days it's even more of a crapshoot.

Yep. Think I'm going to avoid them. Thought they would be a cheap temporary fix. But I think there will be clearance issues. Probable get a set of Sanderson shorty's. How long could I expect a set of uncoated headers to last?

Last? In Az. or any dry climate, probably a lot longer than in humid or coastal areas with lots of salt air.. Thicker tubing wall thickness will last longer, of course. Mine from Clifford Performance, are coming up on 2 years now, in the salty air of Southern Baja. This is probably one of the harshest environments that steel can exist in. The local's say that even plastic rusts here...

Subscribed to find out how they work for you. Glad we finally have a Guinea pig for a test fitter. I was thinking of this thread last month when I was having a conversation with a guy looking for cheap good fitting headers.

i bought a pair of the cheap stainless ebay tri y's for my '66 mustang. $143 shipped to my house. I've had them on the car for about a year. i was pretty shocked when i got them. thick 3/8" flanges, great welds, and they fit PERFECT and don't leak. i know this was about the truck pieces, but i'd take a chance on them since they aren't to expensive.

I think I paid about $175 shipped. When they arrived I was surprised at how good they looked. Like you said thick flanges and what looks like good welds. Ill let you guys know how it goes. I already have the notch in the frame from a duel exhaust installed by a previous owner so I dont think Ill have a fitment issue but we shall see. I gotta finish up another project before getting into this...Ill let you know.

For my 300 IL 6, I ordered Clifford's headers as they are 16 ga. not the 18 ga others advertise. How thick are the tube walls on the ebay SS headers, and do they make them for the 6??
