TPMS SHUT OFF

Is there a way to shut off the TPMS?
Can you adjust the working pressures?

My 2016 F350 which I have had now for 3 weeks, has 65psi in the front and the rear is 80psi. which empty rides like a rock.
I want to lower it down to 60psi (rear). This made a heck of a difference on my 2008 Dually. Think that will cause a light?

If you do a search, there is some info on the forums. Basically, the dealer has the ability to lower the threshold pressures that trigger a tpms warning light. If you just lower the pressures without having the programming adjusted, you will get the warning light.

Apparently, there are some after market shops that 'can' do it too. This is provided they purchased a tool/computer to enable them to do it. Several threads mentioned Les Schwab being able to.

you should be able to lower it to what is on the door cert. You will have to air up though if you carry anything substantial.

I've lowered the rears to 60 psi when empty. The cell came on and would not reset without a visit to the dealer.

I usually get the shop to reset the TPMS to 40psi front and back, only takes them 5 minutes. That and turn off the belt chime. Irritating while in and out around the mill site.

I usually run 65 psi, That won't trigger the TPMS.

With the really cold weather we had today, Mine went off, so I checked and my tires were all about 58-59 psi. So if you stayed about 60 you might be alright, But you are right on the edge with out reprograming

i had mine reprogrammed by the dealer when i bought to 60psi all the way around. they have to do it through IDS, there is no way for a customer to do it without the programming.

The problem with that is SRW trucks have 65psi front & 80psi rear on the sticker. Same psi on 250 & 350 - at least for the 2015 models anyway. No way we need that amount of pressure unless towing/loaded to capacity.

I got my dealer to lower my TPMS down to 55psi. I'm running 60psi at all four corners.

thanks for all of the replies

Thanks for the replies.

I have IDS VCM2. The subscription lapsed and I have yet to renew. I guess I will now. I was wondering if you guys were getting away with dropping to 65 without lights

If you have a spare laptop or room to load VMware to create a virtual machine, you can fool it into thinking it is still in date.

or you might try changing the system date and fool it.

IIRC, rear tires were okay at 70psi. It was when I went to 65psi that the warning light triggered.
