steering shaft for 77 f150

i am looking for a new shaft for my 77 f150 4x4 with PS, i looked on the BORGESON site and found one for a 77 f150, the only thing is that it looks nothing like mine. there is one in there that is for a 78-79 f150-f250 and 4x4s that looks very similar because of the rag joint. am i missing something or is that the style i need? were the 4x4s different and thats why? then why wouldn't they list more years on the 4x4s? thanks for any help.

http://www.borgeson.com/TruckProductFord.htm that is the site if you want to look at what i am talking about.

Are you asking about the knuckle shaft that is about 14-15" long?

not sure what it is called exactly, they just call it a steering shaft. it is the peice that connects the steering colum to the steering gear box. it looks like it has one set of u-joints for the movement between the cab and frame. basicly from the firewall to the front of the frame on the drivers side. hope this helps. it is about 2 feet long or more not sure.

Some after market steering shafts use u-joints instead of rag joints for longer life. Just make sure the end connections and length are right and you'll be OK.

Texan, Borgeson makes two different styles of shafts for our trucks. One style is as you described with a u-joint on each end (no rag joint). The other style is more of a stock type replacement which has a rag joint on the steering box end.

I am using the double u-joint style and couldn't be happier.

Look at the bottom of this page for a little more info.

just call borgenson up and they will get you the correct one. just be sure to remember you will most likely have to cut the shaft to fit as stated in the instructions.
