Hello all, I need some help I have a 96 f250 2wd and my wheel bearings took a crap on me after removing old bearings I noticed a lot of scaring and the threads on my spindle are shot. I have searched and searched but apparently this spindle doesn't exist anywhere. I need help finding a new assembly
Ok I found a used spindle. Everything is going good except that when I put a new outer bearing race in the hub I can turn it with my finger. I'm confident that it is the right size bearing race. My first thought is that my hub is messed up, or is this normal for this hub. I'm not sure
Where'd the hub come from? Did you only get the used spindle? Sometimes bearings come with different race sizes for the same bearing. I know you said it's correct but something isn't adding up.
The hub is original from my truck the spindle came off a different truck but the same year so infinite when the outer bearings failed it either messed up the bearing seat in the hub or the parts store gave me the wrong size bearing race
I cleaned the inside of the hub real good as well as the failed race and didn't see any signs of it spinning in place so I'm leaning more towards it just being the wrong size race
Did the original race just fall out? Normally you have to knock them out from the back side with a punch. If the original was in the there tight and the replacement is loose, then yeah, I'd say it was a parts store foul up.
