Hi everyone,
Just recently purchased a bone stock 2002 X, 4wd with the 7.3 and am enjoying lurking. You guys have done some sweet work on your rigs. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. Here's a shot of my X:
Short list of future mods:
08 Towing mirrors
3rd row headrests
Led interior lights
Replace driver's seat bottom and armrest
We'll see where the money gun points after that stuff is done! Would love to raise it 3-4 inches and put some KR 20" wheels on it, but it's the family vehicle so we will see how that goes...
one thing i tell every excursion owner that may not know. open your back barn doors. do they open only to a 90 degree angle? if not, theres a little clip that you can undo so they open all the way 180 degrees. makes loading stuff A LOT easier.

Thanks for that tip! I'm going to look for that clip! We had a heck of a time getting dogs in and out when hooked up to the trailer.
Before you buy new arm rests, wrangle them off both seats, and swap drivers side for passenger. The underside is probably pristine and will become the top. They aren't too hard to do, and will save some $$$$ for other things. I did mine in the parking lot the first week we had it while my wife was in Walmart and I was wait in with the kiddo.

When you open up your barn doors you'll see this bad boy hooked up in the door jam. There is a metal clip and ball that holds the arm down. Pop it of, and brava!
