I have not been able to locate the correct steel trim clip for an original 48' SS grill trim. Will began calling around today. Thought maybe someone has already tackled this and found a source. Vendors only list the repo trim with clips.
I don't have the paperwork to tell you exactly which fastener I used but I ordered generic, correctly sized of course, from one of the body shop suppliers. I used the single bolt on type that was held in place by attached springs. Easy to install and I haven't lost a single piece of grill.
If you find info on the clip you used raytasch do share it. I looked through the Auveco catalog and did not find a spring or bolt clip to fit. But then I was trying to find a clip to replace the original trim clip which is appx. 1 5/16 h x 1 1/16 w.
Mid-fiftys clips were $30 for 20 clips.
The clips I recieved were not what I asked for. I recieved a universal t-clip that inedds to be cut to size, they have a 10/32 bolt to secure it with. Obviously not the original style spring clip.
I need to check with DC or another vendor to see what they offer, but at this point I bought and paid for these and paid $13 shipping for something I could have bought locally for less $$.
There are two clips used, I think there are 3 or 4 spring clips on each bar, and then two bolt in clips near the corners before the bars angle back, on each bar. Restoration specialties sells them both. On the bolt in's, I had to grind down the head a little and bend the square section a little to slide in the channel. I think that is as near stock as you can get. I picked up my bars on ebay, along with a grill, all in great original shape. I sand blasted and POR'd the back, new clips, and cleared the front. I can take pics of the fasteners if you want.

I looked through my receipts and I think the clips I ended up using were parts b981-clp and 2336e-clp plus the cad nuts and lock washers. Here is my invoice so that you get the right thing. I still had to mod them slightly but was very pleased with the outcome.

Supplier was restoration specialties. Great folks to work with. They have all of the clips for our trim.
