yup, nostalgia asks you to send in your factory climate control and they modify your factory switch (behind the dash) you'd never know. There is a little car show tonight and I'll take some pics.
im big on modified but I want it to look kinda stock. So I even have a factory 73-9 am/fm radio. But I have a Dakota Digital VHX dash. It all looks factory but isn't.
Any questions ask away.
Side note: the guy who charged it says vintage is a better system but it's more modern and you have to switch your factory controls. I think I'm gonna use a different company on my bump.. the have a system that runs off Bluetooth and everything looks factory but you use your phone to work it.. trick trick
just searched and came across this thread i am wanting to put AC in my heat only 73 ford f250. I like the look of the independent underdash hanging unit. does anyone still getting notifications for this thread get it finished and can post a pic or two and any info?
Thanks
V8 seem to have options. My 300 with power steering has no options u til vintage air comes out with their kit. And it involves converting to a gm ps pump with a couple special brackets, adds about $725 to the kit
I think that would be great, but who carries lol the pulleys and idler? I have a 95 mustang alternator, a 78 bronco ps pump and standard pulleys on water pump and crank.
I talked to the vintage air guy, it’s about $725 for two brackets and the gm power steering pump. Then the rest of the kit. So it seems like I am looking at $2200 for 6 cylinder with power steering. Not cheap but when it’s done, I won’t remember the coat vs cold air blowing in 90 degree weather.
Here is the new vintage air 300 kit, has new controls that are wired instead of cables. Includes the pulley for the crank and has a combo bracket for compressor and ps pump, BUT it’s for the gm style pump. That’s another $260. I may look around at prices elsewhere for the pump since it’s a normal one, not proprietary.
I’ll be pulling the trigger in a week or so. 4 week lead time for the kit at $1575 plus shipping plus tax. So I am looking at around $2000
