I just lowered the rear of my 64 by flipping the axle. My question is, does anyone know who makes lowered shocks for this application. All i can find is for 65 and newer
thanks
mike
With that much drop, simply installing a "drop shock" won't do much good. The shock will be nearly parallel with the ground rendering it practically useless. You will need to move the mounting points to get a better angle.
Most major shock absorber companies have on-line catalogs that list their products by minimum compressed length, maximum extended length and overall travel.
Figure out what you needs are and a review of these charts will usually yield a "stock" application shock that will work, without the need for "specialty" drop shocks.
Hey Mike, What did you end up going with on those rear shocks? I am in the same deli ma but still contemplating what to do. I feel like me wife when it comes to cooking dinner... I can't make my mind up.
Thank you for your feedback, Anthony aka Twony
