So i have bought my JDM lowering kit for a good price off Craigslist. My question is how good are the calmax shocks? Also they dont come with shock boots, do you need to get boots or just leave them with exposed piston arm.
I have no experience with CalMax shocks but they are probably just branded shocks from Tenneco.
Custom shocks aren't required when using DJM beams.. all they do is increase the relative distance btwn the spindle mount and the horizontal centerline of the I-beams. Travel stays typically btwn 2.25 and 2.75 inches btwn the beam and the bumpstop.
Rear shocks are a different matter and depends on how the rear is lowered.
Boots are a good thing. Get 'em from Summit for around $8 each.
thanks for the reply. Sorry for the miss print should of been DJM lol. I figured boots were a good thing. Just wasn't sure since the shocks didn't come with them.

You're welcome. No problem... I 'fat-finger' keys and get dyslexic all the time!
I assume you'l be using the DJM shackles and hangers? I don't what other guys have used in-lieu of the CalMax shocks spec'ed by DJM. Maybe PMing one of the guys in this thread who had used those components can shed some light on what shocks are compatible: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...it-thread.html
