quick shock question

Hey guys i bought Skyjacker nitro 8000 shocks.. for the rear shocks i had to turn the bottom shock mount just a little to make them fit.... soo the question.. as of now when the truck is just sitting there the shocks are fully extended when i put the shock in i didnt comprese it like i had to the front... should the shock be compressed a little or is it supposed to be fully extended ??? i dont remeber what the old ones came out like

I checked mine, even though i have Pro Comps ES9000, on my F250's rear they are about half compressed to allow travel in both directions, you might need longer shocks.

They need to be able to extend at least a few inches. You do not want the shock to be the travel limiter - not only will it result in a horrible ride, it will destroy the shock.
