So seems I have a leaking water pump which is probably the cause of my lack of heat at idle until fully warm and hopefully the slight puke. I would have never found it until it was too late if I hadn't jack the truck up for the ball joint work. As I was jacking it up I saw fluid dripping pretty good down the center of the crank damper and onto the center link. Seems it is doing this when only up to full temp then shut down. As soon as I finish the ball joints and drive it back to the house I'll be tearing the pump out and putting in a dieselsite pump in. The wife has finaly said something about the truck.... "After the first of the year I better not hear anything else about that truck"
Have you checked your cooling systems pressure ?
May be a water pump issue but low heat from your heater and slight puking is classic head gasket failure.
I sure hope not.........wife is going to unravel if you do.
Sounds about like mine. As soon as I either fix or upgrade something, something else goes out. I suppose it has nothing to do with the fact it's eleven years old.. My wife already put the depending freeze on mine next month. She's been real good though.

Awww she knows about that one already. Will be doing hg coming up just to get it out of the way. Every time I hve some coolant issue something else has fixed the problem. I told her I just want to do it so I can take that off the list of what is it this time lol.

Yep. She actually called the truck a prissy truck. She said you constantly baby it lol. I told her no I just happen to buy it at the right time that after the 30k miles I've put on it these things need to be done then they are good for the life of the truck I also said it's still cheaper then buying a new vehicle and I plan on keeping this truck for life.
Price for sure, I mean 300 versus 100 and both have metal impeller.
Sure I would love to go with the BPD one but I can put that 200 toward other engine stuff.
My original plastic impeller pump lasted 160,000 mi and was still good when I pulled it. I went back with Motorcraft. I think you will find the whole issue with the plastic impeller failures is due to overtemps. Maintain the cooling system and monitor the temps and the 6.0 will live.

Well since I just dropped 150 on a new auto locking hub I'll be going back with oem as well. Funny as well I'm just a few hundred over 160k on mine......hmmmm
I think mine just went out this AM. Parked in garage and big puddle almost immediately below front center of engine. I've been chasing parts to fix a coolant leak on a union that feeds the heater core (FYI, the part is discontinued.) Been adding distilled water to maintain coolant levels but temps did get up over the weekend (pulled over and added water); but after reading this post, I think I might have fried the water pump too. I just logged on to research WPs here.
