So my 2006 F250 XLT PS SC 4x4 is having a periodic electrical problem.
Symptoms
Cluster Failure (except the battery light and airbag light on start up)
Dome Light won't work with doors open or when the truck is shut off and key is removed
Windows do not roll up or down with KOEO or KOER
The radio has no power at all, not even the clock is displayed
If the truck is running and this issue occurs when the truck is turned off none of the accessories work like they are supposed to, for the allotted 10 mins or so.
Everything else works, wipers, locks and mirrors. This issue can occur when i remote start it, start it dirrectly with the key. The electronics will work normal sometimes on start up and then while driving everything i stated in the symptoms will go dead, though driveability is not affected.
Im not quite sure where to start, seeing as how i've looked at fuses in Fuse box 1 and fuse box 2 and all seem to be okay in relation to all the symptoms im having.
Has anybody come across this issue before? after doing some extensive googling i've come to the conclusion that it could either be my gauge cluster as a whole, or the Smart Junction Box.
I also spoke with my mechanic and he's stated that its possible that under the Fuse box under the hood its possible to have a lot of corrosion near the connectors which could be causing this.
Any help on solving this or where to start would be awesome!!!
Thanks
I am having similar issues. I posted a video on another post yesterday. I changed the relay for the accessories and that did not help at all. my next step is replace the cluster.
Talk to the folks at Circuit Board medics.
All those problems can come from a bad Instrument cluster.
2006 F-250 are notorious for that.
They have a video that show you how to remove the cluster, it's very easy. send it to them and they'll repair it.
Make sure you disconnect the batteries before you get going
Hey guys, merry Christmas to all of you btw!!! Thanks for the ideas and suggestions, gonadotropin give them a call today and see about trouble shooting it.
Been super busy with the old as and what not, so sorry for the late replies btw
Sounds like the retained power accessory circuit in the instrument cluster. Circuit board medics can take care of you. I bought a used IC to use while mine was being repaired. Took about 2 weeks to ship, repair and return, but I am on the west coast so shipping was the long part.
Make sure you get it fixed ASAP. This can run down your batteries, low batteries can damage your FICM, this can quickly turn in to a major $$$$ fix if you don't get it fixed right away.

That's just like me. I'm in British Colombia so my plan is to take it to my p.o. box in Blaine Washington in hopes that I will ship a little quicker. Just wish the exchange rate was a little better
I had this problem in the past and after many many trips to the dealer with service techs and managers banging their head against the wall they called in the Ford Big Dogs of Service.
The problem was a pin size hole in the wiring harness where the tilt steering wheel would bend/break. Over time the insulation wore a small hole through it due to lightly rubbing near this point where the steering shaft allowed the wheel to tilt.
