While headed back to town my 2000 f350 7.3 with 444,650 miles (i'm original owner) and have performed maintenance and repairs since mile 3.
truck started to loose power and eventually stalled, was able to restart several times to limp home 7 miles in one hell of a snow storm. very confused, replaced cam position sensor ( keep one in jockey box ) replaced fuel filter truck starts then stalls out. Anyone have Ideas dont know if a bad HPOP would allow start up at all. Fuel pump???
What did the fuel filter look like when you pulled it? Was it black?
Do you have any way of monitoring ICP, IPRDC, Boost, Baro, EBP?
ICP will tell us a bit about you HPOP. Also you could try unplugging the ICP sensor to see if anything changes. It won't damage anything but will throw a code.
What is your fuel flow like if you open your fuel bowl drain valve? Is it strong with a lot of volume?
This thread will help you get set-up with the ability to read codes and most critical functions with the exception of fuel pressure and EGT's:
What is the fuel level when this happens? If it is below 1/4 of a tank, then add ten gallons and see if that fixes it. If so, your pick-up foot has broken off.
If you can blow low pressure compressed air back through to the tank by taking the tank side fitting loose from the fuel pump you will assist in temporarily unclogging the screens in the tank. If this fixes it, this will buy you a little time to do the Hutch mod.
If you don't have decent flow after all of this then I would probably suspect that the pump is going t*ts up.
Thanks 3, Fuel filter looked almost new I change them more often than probably need to.
Pulled ICP connector found oil inside, tank is 3/4 full, just changed fuel pump no changes truck starts after long crank runs rough for about 30-40-seconds then dies???? sooooo.... I'm guessing ICP or another sensor of HPOP this pickup has never acted up
Are you sure you didnt gel? I had the exact same issue the other morning and had some summer fuel in the tank apparently. Truck lost power and was a huge pain to restart cranking for 20 seconds. Took five times to restart. Refilled and added diesel 911 and fine now

By unplugging the ICP and running/driving the truck, you'll have a better idea if it is the ICP or not. It will throw a code. With it disconnected, he PCM then makes a SWAG at what the ICP is or should be and commands the IPR to deliver that amount.

Did you have a chance to blow back into the fuel tank while you were replacing the fuel pump...with the cap off. This will clear them temporarily.
