Hellol FTE. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here. I'm wanting to fabricate some traction bars at work for my truck. 07 f250 6" lift. Does anyone have a write up on making a set or has anyone done them. How do I know how long to make them. Do I have to buy the brackets to mount them on or can I make them also. Just throwing this out there, if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.
park the truck level, many different mounting points. Decide what you want for brackets on the back axle, and frame. Mount them and then measure the bar size and decide the style
That is an open can of worms.... Do you have access to DOM tubing and do you Off Road? Several designs are available and several not so good. Main goal is to stop the axle from rotating with no binding. I like 2 points at the axle with a solid mounting or weld on, nothing shorter than 60".
Hey John I just saw your reply. What is DOM tubing?. And no I do not really off road. Mountain rides is about it. Honestly I want them for the looks and the added help. But I want to make sure I fabricate them right.
Improperly engineered add on suspension links can be a nightmare and open can after can of worms. Make sure you do some homework and do it right. You need to consider the arc of movement during suspension travel as compared to changes in leaf spring effective length and axle position motion as well as a lot of other factors. Not trying to discourage you, just want you to know that it isn't as simple as some people think it is.
