Hes got a 76 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser with a clamshell tailgate...lol
Neal welcome I see your a new user. When asking for troubleshooting help we don't have a crystal ball. Please post the following vehicle info in order to give any useful advice;
1. Year
2. Make
3. Model
4. Engine size
5. Transmission type
6. Mileage on the vehicle and general overall shape such as; is it a rust bucket or Arizona clean?
7. Is it all original? What modifications have been done?
8. What led to the problem. Has anyone else been in there hacking up wires or is it original and untouched?????

The rear window on my truck goes from side to side, not up and down. The switch is on the overhead console, not the dash. Key in the tailgate has nothing to do with the rear window or how it functions...
