Tire Pressure Sensor - Warning In Message Screen

2007 Explorer 4.0 XLT 4x4

On occasion the message screen will post the Tire Pressure Sensor Fault.

About 3 months ago, we took the truck to a dealer to see if they could locate the fault or condition.

They said that they could not find an issue. All the tech did was add some air. Not long after the dealer looked at the truck, the warning message appeared again.

So, I just bought new tires for the truck and no long after we are getting a more frequent warning display.

With all this being said, should we just replace ALL the Tire Pressure Sensors?

What should this cost?

IRONICALLY, wasnʻt it the Ford Explorer that caused all the under inflated tire dangers? That lead to TPMS?

I may insist that the monitors all be replaced, as long as it does not cost more than a new truck to replace.

first I would check all the tire pressures and see if they are acceptable... and what are they ? You could be 5 psi low on one tire, get the alarm, and possibly not notice a "low" tire visually....... it don't have to be flat to get the alarm.

The tires currently on the truck are brand new and currently are only one week old, also the TPMS warning illuminated just days after the

new tires were installed.

On 12-17-15 I took the truck in for a service inspection on the TPMS. I was told that there could be several reasons for the warning message

to be presented.

1. There could be a low/weak battery in one or all of the Pressure Sensors.

2. Bad or loose connection in the batteries of the Pressure Sensors.

3. 1 or all of the Pressure Sensors could be or is "re-teaching".

I was told that they will not be able to determine exactly which Sensor is at fault - unless the warning message is "ACTUALLY ILLUMINATED" while

at the dealer shop.

I was told to immediately bring the truck in when it illuminates. (IF THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER IS OPEN) they will immediately hook the truck up

to the diagnostic computer.

I reassured my wife that it will be okay to drive the truck when the warning is presented, but if it stays on, we have to take the truck in for service.

I plan to do more tire pressure checks just to see how everything works out.

ONE NOTE: I was not charged for the service and inspection. They also performed a Multi Point Inspection at no cost.

They did recommend new wiper blades and air filter replacement - I bought the wiper blades from WalMart and a new air filter from Oreillys , Iʻll change

these tomorrow.
