Rear axle ID

I have a 79 F100 2wd. It has a 9 inch rear and I am looking to replace the outer bearings while I am doing all the brakes and painting the axle. When I look it up they ask for a 2900 or 3300 pound axle. How do I know which one have?

Post your VIN number or better yet a picture of the tag on the door jam. Also, the axle should have a little tag hanging by one of the bolts... if it's still there.

That's the federal cert. sticker. There should be a metal warranty plate on the back edge of the driver's door, below the latch. It will have an axle code on it.
