I have an old 2 ton floor jack. It doesn't lift properly. It holds the fluid OK, so I figure it isn't a seal. Is there a way to bleed the piston to give it new life? Thanks!
I feel you may wasting your time. I needed to get my jack fix, but I could not find anyone to do the job. And I am in SoCal, meaning there is so many people here, I was sure I would find someone. You might get lucky.
I also looked for an American made jack, but could not find any for a reasonable price.

Floor jack repair?
my hydraulic motorcycle lift was leaking the very slightest at the bleed down screw (the piece you tighten to lift, and loosen to lower).... i pulled the fitting, found one at a parts house that i could make work and tapped the hole a little larger...works like a charm now...
I JUST put my 4-ton jack in the shop to have it gone through at a place in Seattle (Jack's Inc.). I figure that it was getting old and it needed a tune-up as it was made in the '70's.
I have not picked it up yet but they say it will cost about $275.00!!!!! Yeeeeeowch! that is more than I picked the jack up for originally; but then again, I couldn't get a comparable one for that price either. I'll keep you posted...
