Alright, so I've got a 62 stepside f-100 that's sitting on a 89 2wd chassis. At this point im fairly sure that the only way to drop the truck is to put dream beams on the front and axle over on the back. If I am wrong please let me know. The truck fits well on the frame but just sits way too high. Any idea? Correct me if im wrong but im fairly sure that the frame is too wode for a crown vic swap.
there are front springs available, but i have had the best luck with using factory 1993-1995 Lightning springs on the front to lower the truck approx 1.5 to 2 inches. I had my 87 lowered that way, and my 95 F150 i went with Drop beams plus Lightning coils for even more drop.
rear lowering options are to do an axle flip, to buy some drop shackles, or to physically unbolt the leaf spring hangers and relocate them higher up.
By the way, the truck looks sharp on there. I have a 65 F100 sitting out at the farm, waiting for my attention, ive always pondered putting it on top of a 80-96 chassis. if you are under there on a dry day, snap a few pics of how the cab mounts up with the frame for me, please?
