Smile 64 f100 swb custom

Hi everyone, I've been reading reading this site for awhile. And wanted to post my build thread and introduce myself.
My name is Mike and im from Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
My truck is from Arkansas. Its a 64 swb.
Plans are to make it look more like a 60s custom and improve upon safety aspects., while staying within a budget and limited time ( i have two young kids) so time is hard to come by. Iam a licenced autobody repairer.

Ok, so now onto some pics

Got some more work done today, I welded the roof seam together, finished grinding welds on the gas tank filler patch, and cut out the rusty metal just above the drivrrs side drip rail.

Got my engine and trans painted, and installed. Makes a ton more room in my garage which i really need. Firewall is painted now and the cab floor is done too. Painted a bunch of small parts too. Feels good to finally get the engine and trans back in for good i hope

Welcome-

Out of curiosity how long did it take you from when you got the truck to where you're at now?

I ask because I feel like I work incredibly slow. Two little kids, new baby, work around the house and job seem to leave little time for the truck. I.e. i still don't have engine back in after a month since I pulled it to do gaskets, seals and freeze plugs. I wouldn't be surpassed if it took me another month to get it back in.

Oh man, ive had the truck for 3 years. I have a 17 month old and a five year old, so I know what youre sayin.lol.
As much as i love my kids, if was single the truck would be done.
any free time i get im working on it, even if its for 5 minutes.
Not to mention most of my money goes to daycare.
Just gotta keep on truckin i guess

It's maddening for me. It generally takes me 10 minutes of looking at stuff just to get my bearing on what I was working on and where I was on it.

ID scrounger, i go through the same thing. I walk out to the garage and wonder what i was working on. Lol.im working on ten million different aspects at once depending on money and how much time i will have on the weekend.
I think about my truck to and from work everyday for the past three years, its the only time i get to myself really.
Then finally when the kids are in bed and i think maybe i could get a half hour of sanding done my wife says "can we talk about my feelings". Daaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Lmao!!!!!
