I have a 1980 F-250 camper special
1. Why are LED's positive and negative sensitive? Just changed cab and visor lights to led and found this out before final assembly. Saved me some aggrevation!
2. Want to add a third brake light into my cargo light assembly. Will look at a later 80-90 from a jy. What am I up against? Will it be a pita to run a wire for the brake light?
1) LED = Light Emitting Diode - a diode is an electrical valve that lets electricity flow one direction but not the other.
2) I suggest tapping into the circuit at the brake light switch on the pedal; beyond that point, power gets distributed and manipulated by the turn signal switch which will flash power to either or both sides in certain conditions.
Thanks for the info. I had asked an electrician buddy of mine, but he couldn't really tell me why. As for the light.........there's always next summer. Just got the truck back from paint and finishing up putting on some the hardware. Will have pics soon!
