parking brake light

I'm trying to fix the dash light for the parking brake. I keep driving with the damn brake on cause I don't have the reminder light. It comes on breifly after the engine fires up, and I think it's on the same circuit as the wipers (correct me if I'm wrong), so I don't think it's the fuse. I believe the wire to the switch (at the e-brake pedal) is powered and when you press the pedal the switch grounds and the light is supposed to come on. I used a test light to check the wire and no light from the test light. Any ideas what to check next?

I had the same problem I took the switch off and cleaned the contact points with sandpaper now the light comes on and I don’t drive around for miles wondering why I have lost so much power

I don't think I'm at that point yet, because there is no power going to the switch.

The switch is what grounds the light there will not be any power at the connector try taking a piece of wire ground one end and stick the other end in to the plug turn the key on and see if the light stays on then

Ok, I'll try that when I get home (and double check what I'm doing cause I think I did that with the test light)
