Swamps 200cc/30%
Garrett 38r
TS 6-POS re-flashed by Swamps
Driven Diesel Fuel return system ( i havent installed yet ) saw i had to remove my A/C compressor and i tried all bots barley moved and im not snapping them.
Also did OUO Long Gasset Traction bars
I love it all want my fuel stuff on but im waiting for my tech to get free time to do it on the side. Transmission hasnt given to much problem sometimes if its city driving on the highest setting its a little weird on shifts but i usually stick to ECO setting and cruise . Ive seen 30lbs of boost nothing higher but from my understanding thats normal.
I have been looking into the AFE CAC pipes and new boots all around for them and the X pipe just because.
But if anyone has questions i can answer wasnt a hard job took three days but i didnt work much each day and took my time to make sure it was done right.
Shoot the top and base of each A/C bolt with PB Blaster or the like every day, until you're ready to try again. I got all my exhaust bolts out this way, so it should work on the much-cleaner A/C bolts.
Few have done the traction bars and reported back. I saw a huge improvement in shifts and the way the rear end rides. How about you?
Why did you choose long gusset over short gusset?
How was the installation, did you find it difficult to find a location for the forward facing mount?
Which axle mounting type system did you choose, weld, block or under axle?
Would you choose OUO again knowing the price and the results?
Did you get the adjustable style bars, if so how difficult did you find the process of setting the length?
Any pictures of the completed OUO project you care to share with FTE?

Ill have to try that , i had to replace the alternator and the single bolt snapped and i have yet to get that fixed I feel like i noticed shifts were smoother im waiting to get u joints put on the rear to get a smoother drive shaft but i am happy with the traction bars.

Install wasnt bad at all , I didnt really choose i told OUO what i wanted they sent long gusset ones i dont know the difference so i didnt care.
I went with front axle bolt on since i one dont own a welder and two didn feel like flipping my u bols.
Id choose them again price was steep but they were also i called them on a saturday at 6pm est which is like 4pm there time and he answered his cell phone to help great guys from ordering to helping me out.
I got adjustable and that was most likely the hardest part since you have to drill that hole out a few times with different size drill bits to get the crush sleeve to fit/work.
Thanks! I always wanted one and i always wanted a diesel lol,
Injectors seem to be doing well i think im going to try a new filter see if it helps get air in there smoother since the K&N i have is old and filled with dirt. but i enjoy it a lot
I hope you have better luck then me. I did the same setup as you. Since July, I've smoked 3 transmissions. The first was the original that had a triple disc TC and valve body added. The 2nd was a HD4R100 which locked the TC clutch as soon as you stepped on the gas pedal. The one in it now (also an HD4R100) is getting replaced because it's slipping too. Since they're Ford remans, I guess I'm going to go through them until we get one that works. The next one is going to get a different TC and valve body in it. It will likely void the warranty this time, but it's getting damn annoying.
Traction bars are on the list to do at some point in time.
Why not look into a trans that swamps makes? i talked to my tech who is a friend and he said if mine goes hell do clutches steeles seloniod packs and something else. i do have a warranty on the trans so well see what happens
I did. But time was of the essence when the 1st one went out. Swamps had a few days turn around. The HD4R100 was delivered the next day and installed the day after. Hind sight being 20/20, I would have gone that route. Plus, money was also a factor. If I could get a refund from Ford, (I can't) I'd go ahead and do that.
I'm sorry you're going through issues with the HD4R100, but at least Ford has your back on it - and that's better than having an issue in another situation.
My HD4R100 has been tough as nails since install - no matter how badly I screwed up.
I also have heard good about the HD4R100. In fact the shop that's doing my work has installed many HD4R100's with no issues. Some on stock trucks, while some on trucks making considerable more power than mine. I personally have not ruled out something being wrong with the tuning.
Just an update Towed with this setup ,first was uhaul car trailer with a lancer on the back had no issues trans got a little more but its expected while towing. second was a light trailer no more then 3klbs easy as pie , Kept it in the "tow setting" did use the first higher setting one some parts of the highway to get around slow pokes
I relocated to Delaware and have been driving to pa to see my wife and son on the weekends till they come down but was driving and all the sudden I hit 3krpms. She wouldn't shift and got hot real quick so pulled overtired manual gears. (1.2). Nothing so it's currently at a dealer warranty is covering a trans to be put it sadly the dealer will only put a 4r100 in I tried to get a hd4r100 but tech said it won't fit nor will the pcm communicate with it.
Never heard of that so instead of arguing I just said screw it and put it in. Will have a 3 year warranty but. I'm thinking of adding a 6.0 trans cooler to keep it cooler. But till the time comes again. I'll be looking into stronger transmissions
I contacted swamps they suggest one of there's since I don't push a ton of power. But I also work at a ford dealer. (Hertrich) for Those near so I may see what a hd4r100 would cost since it employee cost
