Hi everybody. Am I missing something? Maybe I'm the only one that does this.....but does anyone ever backup in the dark?.....in the rain perhaps? I must be the only one that can't see the back off my trailer....in the dark. Or it must be a legal issue for trailer manufacturers not to provide back up lights. Are they expensive for them? Lol. Anyways, interested in anyones opinion or even nitetime back up situations. I'm sure there's been a few. Thanks for listening to my stupid question.
Yes I know... was being a little sarcastic lol. But you would think that with new trucks and cars with sensors and cameras being more of a common thing they would install as a "feature or option" and I'm thinking more of the large rv's, 5th wheels. I do install them on some of my trailers, but it figures, the one I bring home late at night from a job (I'm in construction) is the one with no lights and I have to back up between the fence and shop in the rain at night! Oh well, I haven't hit the fence yet. Probably after I get the lights installed! Thx Chuck.
My Eclipse attitude TT has factory backup lights, they were pretty terrible, I changed out the old school incandescent bulbs for LED's, they are now extremely useful and crazy bright.
On my home built flat bed car trailer I wired up a set of led cube lights next to my winch on the front, pointed to the back, they are fired up on reverse(reverse lights) and also have a manual switch to turn on/off.
I installed some inexpensive auxiliary lights on my previous travel trailer, and just used a switch I housed inside the storage compartment. Then I could turn them on anytime I needed them.
