Honeybadger Build thread

Well, I figured with all of the plans I have for my X, I should start a build thread.

The Honeybadger is a 2000 limited 4x4 with the thirsty V10. I picked her up from a buddy for $1500. She was a little rough when I got her. So far I have done:
Both front calipers and brake lines
Hub seals, dust seals, o rings
Upper and lower ball joints
New 285 tires
Cleaned and lubed the following guzzles instructions
Replaced ESOF vacuum lines (ESOF still doesn't work)
Added cab marker lights
Fixed driver side heated seat
Siren and emergency lights for the fire department

Short term plans:
On board air (100% duty cycle compressor and a 12 gallon tank)
Air horns
F650 lower dash
2008 mirrors and rear bumper

Long term plans:
2012 front end conversion
Re upholster the interior
Window tint
Body work and repaint
Lift and 38-40" tires
In dash DVD with headrest monitors in 1st and second row seats

Really long term plans:
6.7 diesel conversion

It wasn't hard at all. It was just time consuming. I taped the roof so I could draw on it and I dropped the headliner down in the front. All in all I think it only cost me $40. Don't use those cheap recon ones though, I found a place that has the oem style lights (they take oem lenses too) pretty cheap. They cone with the plug, you just have to make a harness for it.

Check out this site if you haven't seen it yet

http://www.emotoman.com/f250/lights/f250lights.htm

I put the lights 8.5 inches from the black windshield molding, but the spacing is the same as his website says.

Also, run your wire down the drivers side and tie in behind the headlight switch. I know on my 2000 there was NOT a feed for the park lights in the passenger kick panel.

ESOF Help

Maybe this will help you....

There is a solenoid under the hood that lets vacuum to the front hubs. In my case, I had a vacuum leak which was made obvious to me because I could not get my HVAC off the defrost position. This solenoid cracked. Since I do not have ESOF hubs on my truck any more, I just opted to leave the broken solenoid in place and plug the vacuum line before the solenoid. Here is the link:

Now if it is a ESOF hub issue, these may help with dis-assembly, lubrication, and repair.

Good luck. You got a lot of truck for $1500

I used those instructions when I had it all apart for replacing the ball joints. I don't think that it is a hub issue because everything there is brand new. I'm not too concerned about it, eventually if like to put a manual tcase in it with some warn hubs.

It is quite a truck for the price! I had to jump on it

Today I finished my wiring for all of the accessories that are powered when the park lights come on. I put a relay under the dash, and used the parking light wire at the headlight switch to trigger it. I used one of the customer access circuits to pass it through the fire wall and hooked it up to B+

Relay for all things parking light related

Customer access circuit: I FOUND IT FINALLY!

I've got the compressor! I've been looking at the 12 gallon 8 port air tank made for air ride. I think that'll give me plenty of air. The horns are in the background too.

And I got my glass pack welded up and ready to go in this weekend.

It is not a bad thing, it just means the site admins like what they are seeing and want to promote your build. Keep up the great work!

Sounds good to me! I think there are much more worth build going on than mine, but I think it's awesome! It'll never be a show piece, I'm building it to use, but it'll look good! It wouldn't be possible without all the help on here though!
