Engine stalling

When i am driving on the hwy the engine seems to not be getting gas. When i press the accelerator nothing happens then all of a sudden it kicks in and accelerates. Then stalls again.

Any ideas what i need to adjust?

Welcome to FTE

What engine do you have btw? Honestly those symptoms could be a number of things. Hesitation is sometimes the carburetor accelerator pump shot. It is a diaphragm in carburetors that gives a little extra squirt of fuel whenever the accelerator is pressed. When was the carburetor last rebuilt? More than a couple years that would be a good place to start especially if the truck sits a lot.

Another area to focus on if fuel delivery is suspected, direct the output of the fuel pump at idle RPM into a clean container. Must be 1 pint in 30 seconds minimum.

Verify/Reset proper float level after carb rebuild, etc. Too low can cause the symptoms you describe. Those fuel pumps also had the integral fuel filter canister. Work through the beast and it will start running like a champ!
